Harrison’s Village Board unanimously approved the concept and a resolution in support of applying for a WisDOT Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) for the Old Highway Road Trail. The grant for the trail project which will be submitted in late October 2023.
The Old Highway Road Trail is the 1st segment of the High Cliff Connection to be proposed for design. The roadway is currently slotted for Village reconstruction in the upcoming years. The concept for the proposed trail is to remove the bike lanes from the roadway and move it off-road as a 10′ wide off-road multimodal trail.
This 1.8 mile trail segment will be the 1st segment to be constructed of the High Cliff Connection. This trail segment is centrally located within the overall connection and will connect users on the south side of STH 114 to the already existing Lake Park Road Trail north of STH 114.
