Members of the Core Team were able to see bipartisan government in action March 2 when the group was invited to present High Cliff Connection to the new nonpartisan Wisconsin Legislative Trails Caucus.We were invited by Rep. Lee Snodgrass, D-Appleton. Rep. Ron Tusler and State Sen. Andres Jaques, both Republicans, also were in attendance.
The project linking the Fox Cities with High Cliff State Park is awaiting a decision from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on whether it will be awarded grants to study the feasibility of two segments of the trail — along Highway 114 and on Manitowoc Road, Old Highway Road and Pigeon Road. The federal grant pays 80% of the project cost and the Community Foundation has agreed to pay the 20% local share if the grants are approved.
