East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission – as the main planning organization for the region – writes a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) every 5 years. Appleton (Fox Cities), Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac planning areas all have their own MTP, establishing goals and a vision for the future of the transportation system for the next 25 years. The MTP hosts a list of possible improvement projects, organizes funding for projects, and promotes public health, economic development, housing, and community connections.
